About LocAle
LocAle is a CAMRA campaign that promotes pubs stocking locally brewed cask ale and to reduce the number of ‘beer miles’ from the brewery. There's a consumer demand for quality, local, produce and an increasing awareness of environmental issues.
CAMRA branches accredit pubs and venues that regularly stock at least one beer from a local independent brewery. The pub can advertise their support with a window sticker and on social media, available from the branch. Benefits of stocking locally produced beers include:
- Beer drinkers can enjoy greater choice and fantastic, flavoursome beers
- Beer drinkers are attracted to participating pubs
- Local brewers are supported with increased sales
- The local economy benefits
- Fewer beer miles with less impact on the environment
