See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site
Popular village pub, renowned for its four excellent real ales, real cider, pork pies and especially the generously filled plated cobs with salad, for which people travel from miles away, especially at lunchtimes and weekends. A central doorway leads to a snug on the left and the bar to the right which has hardly changed, with its original 1920's furniture and horse racing memorabilia. See the website for its history. Outside is mainly covered and there are heated areas for enjoying a pint and a cob in the sunshine and at anytime of year. Easily reached from the nearby canal by footpath, using the magnificent restored iron bridge over the Stour, this gem is well worth visiting. It has won many local CAMRA awards, including local CAMRA Silver Pub of the Year 2023, for its consistently presented top quality beers and friendly community atmosphere. Cash only, although there is a cash machine handy.
