Swan56 High Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Previously a hotel and closed since 2007, the Swan reopened in 2015 as a live music venue and pub. The large comfortable lounge bar is decorated with vinyl LPs and covers setting the scene as a pub by day and music venue by night. The latest bands are on Facebook. At the back there's a tranquil secluded garden with artistic furniture and decorations, and to the front an enclosed seating area. The integral Mimi's Bistro serves breakfasts from 9am and Mediterranean specialities from a wood fired oven during the day. Themed food evenings on Fridays and Saturdays 7-9.30 in the bistro, bookings only. Six well-kept real ales grace the bar, along with a gin menu. Discount of 20p/pint is offered to CAMRA members on real ales, otherwise Happy Hour is 12-6 every day. An interesting and unusual venue, well worth a visit.
