See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

The Wharf lies at the heart of the historic complex of basins and goods facilities that grew up at the Severn terminus of the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal, which opened in 1768 - prior to this there had been no town on the site, just a hamlet called Mitton. The pub makes good use of an original Canal Company warehouse, dating from 1771, which was converted in 2015 into a pub, music and event venue. Only opens four days a week. The Wharf may also be closed for private functions on Friday or Saturday evenings; otherwise live music and other entertainments are held most days it is open. Enter through the door to a small lobby area with the bar, where two weekly changing real ales (usually from Hobson's or Wye Valley) are available. Then through doors to an impressively dimensioned main room, with high curved brick walls extending right up to the lofty rafters above. It is dominated by the stage, with comfortable seating surrounding a dance floor. Stairs lead up to a small balcony. For the latest listing of live bands see the website home page and Facebook. Pool night on Thursdays. There is level wheelchair access to the bar, performance area and WCs (not adapted).
