2016 Pub of the Year

The winner is Weavers Real Ale House , Kidderminster.

Our two runners up are Station Inn , Kidderminster and Anchor Inn at Caunsall.

Branch members vote each season for their favourite pub in the area. In 2015 our winners were:

Spring 2015- Weavers at Park Lane, Kidderminster

Summer 2015- Black Star, Stourport Our chair, Nick Yarwood, commented that “Branch Members voted for The Black Star as their summer pub of the year in recognition of its great beers plus its extensive and attractive new canal-side Beer Garden, ideal for summertime drinking”. Maria and Andy Gooding have put in a great deal of effort to make this newly refurbished pub such a success, a fact recognised by the presence at the presentation of Peter Amos representing the owners, Wye Valley Brewery.

Autumn 2015-Pennies, Kidderminster

Our Chairman, Nick Yarwood commented - “The Penny Black, under the leadership of Manager Matt Irvine, has changed a lot over the last couple of years. There are now more real ciders and real ales on the bar including some from local breweries, and the quality is consistently good. The atmosphere has changed as well, making the pub a pleasant town centre venue to meet with friends for a chat, perhaps play a game of darts, enjoy a meal and of course raise a pint. Well done to Matt and his team for raising the bar.
